About the Recipe

Ingredients

For the Pulled Pork:

  • 3-4 pounds boneless pork shoulder or pork butt

  • 1 cup Poundtown Outlaw BBQ Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon cumin

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth

For the Sliders:

  • Mini slider buns

  • Coleslaw (store-bought or homemade)

  • Sliced pickles (optional)

  • Additional Outlaw BBQ Sauce for serving

Preparation

For the Pulled Pork:

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onions and cook until they become translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. Season the pork shoulder or butt with smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Push the onion and garlic mixture to one side of the skillet and add the seasoned pork. Sear the pork on all sides until it's nicely browned.

  4. Transfer the seared pork and onion-garlic mixture to a slow cooker. Pour in the Poundtown Outlaw BBQ Sauce and chicken or vegetable broth. Give it a good stir to combine.

  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

  6. Remove the cooked pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir it into the flavorful sauce. Let it cook for an additional 15-30 minutes on low to absorb more flavor.

For Assembling the Sliders:

  1. Split the mini slider buns and lightly toast them if desired.

  2. Place a generous amount of the Outlaw BBQ pulled pork on the bottom half of each slider bun.

  3. Top the pulled pork with coleslaw and sliced pickles for some crunch and tangy contrast (optional).

  4. Drizzle extra Poundtown Outlaw BBQ Sauce over the pulled pork.

  5. Place the top half of the slider bun on the assembled ingredients to complete your pulled pork sliders.

  6. Serve the Outlaw BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders with your favorite sides, such as potato salad or baked beans, and enjoy these irresistible bites bursting with smoky, sweet, and savory flavors.
